Collection: Midsummer

Midsummer is one of the most beloved holidays of the year, celebrated around the summer solstice in June. The festivities often begin with a Midsummer pole being decorated with flowers and leaves, which is then placed on a grassy field. Families and friends gather to dance around the pole to traditional songs such as “The Little Frogs.”

Food plays a central role, with a smorgasbord that includes herring, freshly picked potatoes, sour cream, chives and strawberries for dessert. Many drink schnapps and sing schnapps songs. Midsummer is also a time for games and pastimes.

The celebration takes place outdoors, if the weather allows, and it is a time to enjoy nature and the bright summer night. Midsummer symbolizes community, joy and tradition.
